possible ganglion cyst in thoracic spine

I have been struggling to get an acceptable diagnosis of a VERY tender spot on the center of my back. It has been this way for over a year. I tend to have ganglion cysts in my wrists and fingers. Is it possible to have one in my back? It feels exactly like the cyst on my finger and in my hand feels, like a raw exposed nerve. It hurts every time someone hugs me. I had an MRI and it did not show anything that would be causing this pain. Is it possible that the cyst is closer to the surface than the MRI reads? Please help if you have ANY ideas! Thanks a bunch!
